The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) measures basic essential skills in the academic content area of reading, mathematics, science and English and language usage. The test is intended for use primarily with adult nursing program applicants. The objectives assessed on the TEAS exam are those which nurse educators deemed most appropriate and relevant to measure entry level skills and abilities of nursing program applicants.




How to Register for the Test of Essential Academic Skills Test (TEAS)

at the bottom RIGHT corner, click on "Register for TEAS"
Next screen will ask "What would you like to register for?" Click on “scroll down” arrow and choose "TEAS" and then NEXT
You will be asked to choose a state and a city and follow the instructions from there for registration.  The cost is $60 and you can pay on line with a debit or credit card.

Also, you will be instructed to create a user name and password before paying for the test with a credit or debit card.

 All testing will take place in the ASUTestingCenter, John E. Thomas Hall, Rm. 245, 287 Rivers St. (visitor parking is available in the Rivers St. Parking Deck one block further down Rivers Street).  Students should report at least 30 min. prior to test time with a valid (unexpired) government issued ID (driver's license, state ID, military ID or passport). The name registered for the test must match the name on the ID. All instructions will be listed on the ATI web site. You should allow 4 hours for the test. No calculators are allowed and we will provide scratch paper.  PLEASE NOTE THAT REGISTRATION FOR THE TEAS TEST WILL CLOSE 5 BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE EACH DATE, SO REGISTER EARLY.

We will begin testing at the end of September, 2012 and test through January 10, 2013.  The application deadline  for the program is January 15, 2013.  There is limited seating, so please register early for the test. 

TEAS Testing Accommodations

Individuals requesting testing accommodations for the TEAS Entrance Exam must complete the TEAS Testing Accommodation Request Form and submit the Form, along with supporting documentation which explains the current impact and functional limitations of the disability in accordance with university documentation guidelines found at www.ods.appstate.edu,to the Office of Disability Services (ODS).  Click here to download the TEAS Accommodated Test Request

Please allow ODS at least two weeks before the scheduled TEAS exam for review and an eligibility determination. Individuals will be contacted via letter regarding their eligibility for requested accommodations. ODS will confirm with the ASU Testing Center approval of reasonable accommodations.
